Description
A rare “withered” sencha. Sky-high floral aromatics with a tangy finish and a citrus-like feel. A curious tea that is light, cleansing, and intense. You’ve got to try this!
Produced May 2023 by Fumiki Kawaguchi in the Sayama region of the Saitama Prefecture. This tea takes the unusual step of withering the leaves prior to steaming. This step greatly enhances the floral qualities naturally present in the Fukumidori cultivar sourced from the Shimizuen Tea Farm. The Sayama region is further north than Japan’s traditional tea areas. The cooler weather causes the plants to grow thicker leaves which can bring more strength to the cup.
